NISSAN PHILIPPINES BUILDS NEW HOUSES WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

(Manila, Philippines)– Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI), in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Philippines, continued its commitment to the community through its CSR initiative of building four new homes at Bistekville 5 in Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City.
“We believe in improving the lives of our fellow Filipinos, more so for those coming from the low-income sector, and we do this by helping them build their dream — owning a home they can call their very own,” said NPI President and Managing Director, Antonio Zara. “This is our way of giving back to the community, by upholding our brand promise of turning What If into What Is for those in need.”
Habitat for Humanity Philippines President Charlie Ayco acknowledged NPI’s latest foray in corporate social responsibility. “We are happy to count on Nissan as a partner in making people’s lives better,” Ayco said.
NPI’s partnership with the organization started off with a donation of vehicles, namely the Nissan NV350 Urvan, and the award-winning NP300 Navara, for the ReStore program and disaster response activities. This was followed by the donation of over fifty house repair kits in the Shelter Rebuild Drive for the town of Oras, Eastern Samar that was devastated by Typhoon Ruby in December 2014.
The four core houses, each costing P210,000, are intended for the benefit of the families of informal settlers in the area. These new homes were built with the help of NPI employees, Nissan dealer employees, and media volunteers who worked side by side with the beneficiaries during the house-building activity.
