REALIZING THE THRILL OF THE DRIVE WITH THE NEW NISSAN JUKE
THURSDAY, JANUARY 21, 2016
(Manila, Philippines) - Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) recently brought thrill and excitement to the surfing capital of the north, San Juan, La Union, during a media ride and drive event with the new Nissan Juke. The media ride and drive, which was held last January 21 to 22, 2016, saw select members of the motoring and lifestyle beat experience the unique design, exciting drive, and innovative technology of the much anticipated vehicle.
The drive flagged off from the Nissan North EDSA dealership, where a fleet of 20 Nissan Jukes made their way to San Juan, La Union, stopping at Makkan Ilokano restaurant on the way. Adding to the excitement of the drive were surprise appearances by surfing champions Luke Landrigan and Nikki De La Paz. The drive culminated at Kahuna Beach Resort for a celebration of thrilling fun by the beach.
STANDOUT SUBCOMPACT
Since its introduction to the Philippine market in October last year, the new Nissan Juke has captured the attention of the market, leading to early reservations of the unit prior to its start of sales.
“The new Nissan Juke is built to thrill and is designed for those who can handle the attention. It is for people who want to stand out,” Antonio Zara, President and Managing Director of Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) said. “This January 2016, we are pleased to announce that the new Nissan Juke is officially available in the Philippines in all Nissan dealerships nationwide.”
Nissan’s answer to the compact crossover segment, the new Nissan Juke is a striking, fun to drive vehicle that is practical for day-to-day use. Even before it hit the local roads, the new Nissan Juke has already garnered awards in the local automotive award-giving bodies, winning the 2015 Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI) Best Subcompact Crossover SUV title. Overseas, the new Juke was named the 2015 Best Compact Utility Vehicle in the Middle East Car of the Year (MECOTY) awards, and the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick in 2011, among others.
BUILT TO THRILL
Designed to project an energetic agility, the new Nissan Juke combines the spirit of toughness and sportiness in its DNA. It features an SUV’s high seating point for ease of road visibility, and an agile maneuverability for added excitement to the driving experience, combined in a subcompact ride.
Starting with its unique exterior design, the front combination lamps set high upon the hood complement the large round head lamps of the fascia, while the mesh grille and under guard air intake lend a sporty look. Strength and sportiness is reflected in the muscular lower body sides as well as a sloped rear roofline and the embedded rear door handles in the rear pillars.
Inside, the center console with its motorbike-inspired hooded gauges creates a streamlined appearance that shows everything at a glance. The seats are sports-bolstered, hugging the rider’s body in place during active driving, while the door trim with its distinctive diving fin look, adds to the Juke's sporty personality.
Tech-wise, the new Juke also uses the new intelligent control display called the Integrated Control System (I-CON). This versatile, multi-colored system allows drivers to change both the drive and climate modes at a touch. In Drive mode, the I-CON system offers three different settings – Normal, Sport and Eco. Under Normal mode is the perfect combination of performance and efficiency that is best for everyday driving. The Sport mode adjusts the steering, transmission and throttle response for a more responsive driving. While the Eco mode maximizes the new Juke’s performance in fuel efficiency. The Climate mode allows the driver and passengers to customize the interior temperature and direction of air flow to suit their individual preferences.
